Growing Your Relationship with God by Speaking WITH Him

Psalm 50:15 says that we can call upon God in every trouble and he will deliver us; that is how many of us see our relationship with God - we pray asking for health, wealth, or peace, and we hope he will answer. The Bible is replete with versus that tell us to cast our troubles upon God, to turn our anxieties over to him and he will take the burden (1 Peter 5:7), but one is left to ask, does thinking of God only in this limited way really change your world? The answer is, not really. If you find that most of your time with God is spent sending prayers of request or worries, then perhaps it is time that you try to grow your relationship with God.

Perhaps the most simple truth in the Bible appears in 1 John 4:16, when it reads, "God is love." This passage further tells us to rely on God, but also simply that whoever lives in love, lives in God. So, if God is this entity who simply embodies love, can it seem right that our only relationship with him is to complain, request and cast our troubles upon him? The answer must be no, not because God cannot accept our troubles, but because we need to see our relationship with God in a more positive light. God needs to be someone who we come to with thanks, affection and love.

The next time you talk with God, try to talk WITH God, not just to him. Actually listen, pause, reflect and "hear" what God has to say to you; some people call this meditation. Begin by closing your eyes, and thanking God. Thank him for your life, or your health, your favorite dog - whatever is important and good in your life. Feel that gratitude, building within you, filling your heart. Thank God, with all your soul, for this good thing in your life, no matter how small it is. Let yourself feel how this part of your life impacts you, and how God is responsible for that. Then, let your mind wander to other things that you are grateful for - a beautiful tree that you saw today, a childhood memory that you hold dear, even your new car. Just wander in your mind, thanking God, letting him hear your appreciation for this world he created, and for your life. Does this mean you can never ask God for anything again? Certainly not. But do not let your relationship with God be only about you asking or venting to him. Let your relationship with God be more positive, and open yourself up to his response through your own senses. Think about it this way: if God showed up on your doorstep, in the flesh, would you ask him for a million dollars? Probably not. More likely, you'd fall down at his feet and thank him for your life, and for the amazing world that he created.

Earnest Prayers to Save India

Earnest Prayers to save India

By: Shiphrah Jessica

India is one of the great developing nations of the world both economically and politically. With a huge population of 1.17 billion, India accounts one sixth of the total world's population. With the impact of globalization, India is able to stand in level with the developing nations of the world. Many multinational companies started marching into India and set up their branches. Mammoth job opportunities originated as a result of this. However, more than 45% of the people live below poverty unable to fulfill their basic necessities like food, shelter and clothing. As adding fuel to the fire, more than 3 million people squirm under the pain of deadly killer diseases such as AIDS. Most people are under the clutches of sin, unable to come out in spite of their desire. As a dog returns to his vomit so a fool repeats his folly. Everywhere anyone could feel the air of sin, starting from adultery and fornication to killing of innocent peoples. Each day everyone could witness so many results of sin through Medias and various other sources. Christian missionaries and workers are persecuted all throughout India everyday without reasons. People of these days sin without worry as of drinking milk; they hire henchmen to kill innocent peoples for trivial things. They are unmindful of things they do and sin regularly. You may ponder what you may do for these teething troubles. But you can do something powerful with much ease. It doesn't cost you money or make you toil, it just needs your precious time to be spent by kneeling down and praying to Jesus the omnipotent God to get answer for these problems. "We receive from Him (Jesus) anything we ask" I John3:22

Prayer is a powerful tool that needs less effort but bring great results, nothing can stand beyond the reach of a powerful and fervent prayer. Prayers are highly essential in this situation and Jesus is always ready to heed ears to your prayers and answer. Earnest prayers from the depths of our heart can deliver people from the clutches of sin, heal people from deadly diseases and can enormously bless to prosper their life. Prayer is not an uphill task; it's just speaking with God. Prayer can be generally categorized into four types (1) A prayer for thanks giving (2)A prayer with petition (3) Prevailing prayer (4)Prayer for others

(1)You must be thankful for all the things the Lord has offered including food, shelter and clothing. It is necessary to give thanks in every circumstance as Job gave, whether the situation is good or bad. God much delights with a thankful heart and He was much pleased when one healed leper out of the 10 healed lepers came to show his gratitude toward him. "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever". Psalm 136:1 (NKJV)

(2)You give petition to God daily to ask our daily needs including spiritual needs, employment etc. We must be exact in our petitions. The petition must not be greedy but it must be our needy. As a child asks to his father we ask to God in faith.

(3)A fervent prayer can heal mind or deadly sickness, until you get a solution

(4)A selfless prayer for the goodness of other is very important. Prayer for the healing of others, to deliver from the bondages of sin is very important aspects. It is also equally important pray for the workers and missionaries of God who are striving around the nation without counting their life.

If someone comes with a need, we will stop him by the door step and sent him back; and this is not the way what God does. Jesus is ready to hear and answer your prayers anytime whatever the problem may be. Many problems are difficult for man to solve but it is easy with God. Bible says "Do not forget the poor and needy when you are rich" also the Bible says "If you ever forget [that]... you will surely be destroyed" (Deuteronomy 8:17-19 NIV). So it is highly essential to stretch hands for the poor's materially and through prayer. According to Bible during the last days Christians will be persecuted in God's sake. As these are last days many Christians in India are tortured vehemently without reasons. Many are burn live and beaten to death.

In this situation of crisis, every Christians should woke up and pray fervently to deliver all the people of this nation from the clutches of sin, heal them from their deadly diseases and bless each Indian in spite of caste, creed and religion. It is also important to pray for labors and missionaries of God who are striving hard to deliver people from bondages of sin and prosper their life.

Christian Healing Ministries that Heal Stress and Addictions

Jesus Christ is the focus of Christian healing ministries that are freeing people from the pain associated with unhealthy lifestyles. There is no limit on the healing power of Jesus Christ. If you are seeking: healing addictions, healing sexual abuse and healing stress: Jesus cares about those things that are plaguing you and here are some Biblical steps that you can take. Spiritual healing is available that will reach deep into a person's soul to bring healing from these common torments that are destroying the peace and joy that is available through Jesus Christ.

Healing Stress
Negative emotions are damaging to the body. Modern life is often characterized by a mounting sea of daily pressures and stressful events which are coming at us from every direction. However, the real culprit behind stress and stress related illnesses is not the situations and daily pressures that are bombarding us. The real culprit behind stress is the emotional reactions that we are experiencing on the inside of us. These emotions can generate sickness within our body. Negative emotions release chemical reactions in the body and the brain. These reactions affect organs on every level including the stomach, heart, large muscles, and the cells throughout the entire body. The most dangerous emotions include: un-forgiveness, depression, rage, anger, worry, fear, grief, guilt and frustration.

What many don't realize is that these negative emotions are sins which not only cause disease, they also separate us from God. But don't be discouraged! There is good news in this truth and that good news is that there is a way out from disease and the entrapment of negative attitudes and emotions that may have affected our personality. Jesus died so that we can be free of sin's penalty and from its power. We can be set free of negative emotions which cause sickness and stress by learning how to carry our negative emotions captive to Christ (2Co 10:5). Healing stress can bring forth physical healings in our bodies from diseases that we may be experiencing. It always carries us closer to Christ.

Healing sexual abuse
Sexual abuse is a traumatic experience that causes deep feelings of rejection within the abused person. Sins against us whether they are verbal, physical, or sexual are tremendously painful experiences which can leave us experiencing symptoms in our personalities such as shyness, perfectionism, exhibitionists, and high achievers. Healing sexual abuse is necessary in order to experience the freedom of life without seeking the approval of others. The deep-rooted pain can cause a person to hide their real self from others and even from God. Healing sexual abuse will result in meaningful relationships and purposeful lives which are filled with true intimacy with others and with God.

Healing Addictions
Addiction is bondage in our lives. Spiritual/emotional bondage is anything in our lives that controls us or rules us. God-and the peace and freedom He gives us-is to be our master, not sin. Some things that are good can become addictions when moderation is passed such as eating, work, relationships, shopping, prescription drugs and entertainment. Other addictions are based on things that are not good to begin with such as gambling, foul language and illegal drug use. True freedom from addiction and healing addictions begins with allowing God to work on your emotional life and honestly admitting deep down inside that you need His help to help you surrender and stay surrendered to His leadership in your life.

Healing stress, healing addiction, and healing sexual abuse are only possible through the power of the cross. When you receive Jesus Christ as your savior you receive the Spirit of Jesus Christ within you. Becoming a new man is not always immediately visible outwardly, but as you seek God through the truths found in the Bible you will experience freedom in your life as never before. Christ in you is the hope of glory (Col 1:27): To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Commitment Phobia - What And How

The Fact

Commitment dread among men is not rare. It had been there for centuries. Men were noted for their reluctance to recede their prerogatives. And a permanent relationship, much like a monogamous marriage, would constantly - at the least in their cognition - cut them off from that free rein of being a free adventurer in life.

Men are, normally, very sovereign. They enjoy to do and settle things for themselves, and by themselves. Being married, for instance, would put him in a condition where he lose his freedom to do whatsoever he likes the way he inclines to. There is even an old story concerning it: "It is said that the bride wears white coiffe because white represents tranquility and joy. If that's accurate, then why does the groom unceasingly wrapped in black?"

But, supposing afraid of commitment among men had been there for ages, it had never been a capital complication until today. Today, more and more men are found to have to an uneasiness to pledged relationship to some degree, even to the extent of phobia. Yes, more and more adult men have commitmentphobia today! What are the origin of it? And how can we deal with it?

The Origin

In today's reality, the causes of fear of committed relationships in men are no longer as naive as in a few decades ago. Though it's nonetheless admittedly right that the most important reason for afraid of committed relationships among men is their hesitancy to waive independence, now the advancements that women have made also play a grave part.

Myriads women now are financially much more self-reliant. And more and more assignments, that were traditionally administered by men now have been given to women.

For ages, men usually have the position as provider for his househ old. That portrayal had granted them sentiency of calmness. They knew that their pedigree (mate and kids) needed them. The perception of being needed helped him feel useful.

The contemporary developments, plus the advancements in newscasting engineering that give ability to everyone of us to hear every talk and manners among celebrities with all their shocking stories, have degraded innumerable men's assurance and thoughts of surety. The info around how many women now can disappoint their men easily and leave them for richer guys, as well as their own bad experiences with women in their lives make the idea of being sworn for a whole-life relationship to single one female is very scary!

And it's not just that. The nonchalance trend now to acquire sex anytime they require also contributes greatly to their reluctance to enter a monogamous relationship. There are more and more women now who won't even think twice to do one night stand with a man they have just met. And also that "friend with benefit" lifestyle that is so hot today makes so many more men consider that a pledged relation is unnecessary.

Then What?

I imagine there's no such thing as a decided resolution for this. If you are already in a interrelationship with a men with afraid of commitment, then there are only two choices: either to end the relationship and guard yourself from more upcoming disconcert and brokenheartedness, or to assist him to surmount his afraid of commitment . The second option of course will never be easy. It may weaken you mentally and emotionally. But the selection is yours to make. The key is, perseverance and self control.

Uprightly, I will not recommend to keep your alliance with him unless you know for sure, with all you heart and deepest feeling, that he is "the one" for you, your soul mate. But, even if he is, I should tell you: your endeavor to win him will be hard. You may have to stop seeing him for a few weeks or even months (after having a heart-to-heart talk around what you want from him in the alliance) to give him time and space to work out his problems. If he really loves you, then he will find himself at a point where he conceives that the thing he worries the most is losing you, not committing to you.

And for you who have not been in interrelation, there are many signs of commitment-phobic men that you can use to identify whether a love interest is a sufferer of fearful of commitment or not. Preventing is without exception easier than curing. So, if you understand that a guy friend suffers a fear of committed relationships , do yourself a favor: run! Unless... of course, you know deep within your heart that he is "the one" for you.

Custom-made gifts: Charm Bracelets

Custom-made gifts: Charm Bracelets

By: Gyrel Dagooc

Jewelry has taken on not just an ornamental but a symbolic significance; therefore, a custom-made jewelry gift is the perfect gift to give this year. The great thing about custom-made gifts are that they are completely original. Giving a custom-made piece of jewelry ensures her that she will never run into another person wearing the same bracelet or pair of earrings. It's as though you are saying she is one-of-a-kind, matchless, and irreplaceable, and therefore she deserves a design as rare as she is. The beauty of custom jewelry is that it can inimitable without being expensive. A custom necklace can be created using a simple cord decorated with a copper disk that has her initials engraved upon it. Two turquoise beads might accent the disc and voila! You have created a thoughtful, unique design personalized just for her.

Pandora style beads make customization fun. Choose alphabet block beads to create a bracelet with her children's names. Make the bracelet beautiful by incorporating gold-plated beads with intricate filigree. This custom-made gift will adorn her wrist at formal events as well as during trips to the supermarket. Charm bracelets and necklaces are also beautiful, personal gift options. Many jewelry artisans design custom earrings using beads, precious stones, and metals. Hand blown glass beads and chiseled metals make crafted earrings that are completely unique. Add layers of symbolism to custom designs by incorporating birthstones, engravings, and symbolic charms. In the end, sentimentality is much more valuable than gold or diamonds.

Charm bracelets, which were extremely popular in the 1950s, are making an appreciated resurgence. Daughters who wore their mother's and grandmother's heirloom bracelets are now passing on the tradition to their children. Trendy teenagers who have never seen the iconic charm bracelets of yore are collecting charms for their own bracelets. Adult women are drawn to the new, modern, whimsical and eclectic styles of charm bracelets, and are beginning memories of their own. Part of the charm bracelet fad is due to the sudden popularity of self-expressive jewelry. Jewelry, just decades ago collected for mostly ornamental purposes or to exhibit social status, is now being worn as a way to articulate one's own unique personality. Jewelry has also taken on symbolic meaning: it is no longer just engagement and wedding rings that hold personal significance to their owners. Handmade earrings, heart-shaped or forever-style necklaces, and especially charm bracelets, are not only personal displays of style but have symbolic worth. Charm bracelets hold layers of symbolism. Each charm is representative of an important aspect or memory in a person's life. Wearing a charm bracelet is like carrying your autobiography on your wrist. Each charm tells a story. Not only are charm bracelets lovely representatives of the rich life their wearers have lead, but charm bracelets are made to be passed down from generation to generation, as each recipient adds their own memories in the form of tiny, personalized emblems. The charm bracelet becomes a familial tapestry.

Today's charm bracelets are stylish and even more customizable than ever before. Charms come in different sizes and shapes and there are limitless possibilities as to the meaning behind each representation. Charm bracelets never cease to draw a smile: both on the wearer's face and on those who hear the jangle and glimpse the glitter of the bracelet on another's wrist.

Controlling Jealousy - Why It Is Vital

Although jealousy is common in relationships, excessive degree of it can be lethal. Why? Because jealousy, unless it is dealt right, can turn you into the one that always puts the worst spin on everything that happens.

For example, you call him but you can't reach him. Instead of thinking that his cellphone battery might be out of power, you may think that he intentionally turned it off because he is with another woman. Or, instead of thinking that he might be trapped in a traffic jam when he came home late, you may think that he spent the hours with his young female colleague in pub.
Indeed, it is not for nothing people call for jealousy as a green-eyed monster. Unless you control and deal with it in the right way, it can be detrimental to your life.
Uncontrolled jealousy can make you behave in very disturbing ways. It can make you very interrogative to your partner when it has overwhelmed you.
It also can make you act like an amateur spy agent whose always on a mission to pry on wallets and pockets: your partner's wallet & pocket :) It can even shape you into an awkward stalker (if you know what I mean). And worse than that, it can turn you into a banana republic dictator - that is very controlling to your partner - if you don't deal with your jealousy in the right way.
And strong emotion brought by jealousy can also make you feel that you have every right to do all that even though there is no slightest piece of evidence you have that can support your suspicion. This is another reason why controlling jealousy is crucial before it turns itself into that big green-eyed monster that is too difficult to conquer.
Before it is too late, know this: if you behave like that, instead of ensuring your partner's company, you will make him become more distant to you. If things go on and on that way, he may consider leaving you if he feels that it is the only thing he can do to free himself from your control and to regain his independence.
Now be honest to yourself. Do you often feel suspicious or jealous to your partner even though there is nothing that can back it up? If yes, then you should stop for a while and do some self-reflection. Controlling jealousy needs you to first acknowledge your own problems.
You feel jealous because you are afraid of losing your partner's feeling and attention to you. Because you are afraid of losing him. That's the real reason behind your controlling behavior: fear. By controlling, subconsciously you think you will be able to make sure that he will never leave you.
But facts show that, it is exactly the controlling behavior that usually be the cause of the infidelity later. The more you try to control your partner, the more he will distant himself from you. That's what people usually do when they are dealing with an overly controlling person. If he reacts that way, you can't blame him.
If you continue doing that, it will be like a vicious cycle: the more you try to control him, the more he hides things from you, and so on. If you don't try to break this vicious cycle by dealing with your jealousy, you'll end up finding that your relationship has deteriorated to the extent beyond repairable.
Realize this: your over-jealousy will never do anything good for your relationship. The root of jealousy is always fear. And the cause of that kind of fear is usually low self-esteem and bad self-image.
So, don't take it lightly. Overcome your jealousy now before it can do too much damage to your valuable relationship. But first, deal with your low self-esteem and bad self-image. After that, controlling jealousy will no longer be a problem for you.

Financial Abuse in Domestic Relationships

Domestic violence affects an estimated 8 million people each year. It is not limited to any gender or orientation, and it can encompass many levels of abuse, such as physical, mental, and emotional. However, another frustrating and frightening form of domestic violence is financial abuse. Although this is most often associated with people taking advantage of the elderly, it can also affect those in marriages or long-term partnerships with an abusive person.

With financial abuse, a person economically restricts his or her partner so that this person is limited in both freedom and security. Because the victim has to rely completely on the abuser, this makes the abuser feel powerful and in control. This can mark the beginning of a devastating cycle of abuse that may seem impossible to escape.

There are several signs that can mean that you are a victim of financial abuse. First, a financial abuser will severely restrict and control your money and credit cards. He or she may not trust you with a credit card, debit card, or account of your own. You may only receive an allowance, and you will probably be forced to keep track of every penny that you spend.

To further your dependence on your abusive partner, he or she may prevent you from getting a job. You may be forced to stay at home instead. If you do have a job, your partner may decide to force you to miss certain days or talk with him or her on the phone in order to restrict your productivity and income. If you have any assets from before the marriage or partnership, you may be forced to give up the control of these items to your abusive partner.

Financial abuse may not seem as dangerous or scarring as physical and mental abuse, but it still relies on a dangerous cycle of forced dependence. If you are the victim of domestic abuse, you may need legal help to separate you from your abusive partner. To discuss your legal options, please contact a Raleigh domestic violence attorney from the Marshall & Taylor Law Firm, P.C., today.

They Called It Puppy Love!

Introduction

Everybody calls it puppy love. But what is that? Why in the world the word puppy attached to it? As long as you know, your feeling for her is real. Your affection for her is very deep. You want nothing except her. And the thought of losing her is unbearable!

You did not know what had happened to you. But now you feel that you have changed in someway, strange way. Unlike those good old days when you see all of your friends as your play mate, now it seems, for no reason at all, that girl looks very different from the others. A strange feeling that you have never had before....

Now her face is always on your mind, your mouth always whispers her name. You even tried to write a most beautiful poem for her, something that had never crossed your mind before.

You are confused, you do not know what to do. You feel the world has changed, all became very strange. Worse than that, you do not know if she, the one you have a crush on, is having the same feeling for you or not. You long for her, but when you meet her your nervousness makes you look silly before her. Wow! This yearning is torturing... but beautiful!

The Cause

Young friend, if that is what you feel, know this: you are not alone. Every teenager in the world sooner or later will face it. It is normal. The hormone changes in your body make you see those from the opposite sex differently.

In fact, every adult in the world had had been through it. There is even funny calls for it: puppy-love, calf-love, or even kitten-love. "Puppy-love?", you asked. Yes, because just like a puppy which is always very excited to every new thing she can find, so are we when we enter that puberty period and experience attraction to the opposite sex.

It is like a whole new world opened before our eyes, a beautiful new world of romance. We want to experience it to the fullness of it, but our fear and lack of experience make us sit there and waiting.

You do not know what to do. But too ashamed to ask your parents about it. Moreover, it seems they will not care enough. "At most they will just laugh and say that it is only a puppy love", you thought.

Yeah, you might be right. Your parents, uncles and every other adult around you might not take that seriously. They might just make fun of you and call you "a puppy in love". "It is just a puppy love", they might say heartlessly.

"How come they say that? Calling a pure love like this a puppy love? Very offending!", you thought.

Relax! They are just teasing you. They do not mean to belittle your feeling. They know and understand what you feel. All of them had been there. And because of it, they know well that most probably it will not be long. If you do not close yourself from the other girls, you will find that you have another crush to another girl soon... another puppy love:-)

What To Do

So, it is good that you wait. Do not take that feeling of infatuation too seriously. Because as a very young adult, your mind and heart are still not mature enough to handle the complexities that a relationship can bring. Your young heart and mind might not be able to handle well the pain and misery that will always be there in an unhealthy relationship.

Actually, in this "new world of romance", beauty and happiness belong only to those who are matured in mind and emotion. Why? Because both parties in every relationship have very different background & characters. Without understanding and maturity, no relationship will bring happiness to the persons involved in it. And bad relationship will always diminish the quality of lives of the ones involved.

So, it is good that you wait. Learn a bit more, observe your feeling as well as your surrounding. Enjoy your young life and do not let anything deviate you from what you are supposed to do. Remember, you have a very long way to walk on in your life. Do not let these temporary changes ruin your future!
